It’s a snap to activate and deactivate fonts from within the application and auto-activation plugins are installed automatically for InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and InCopy CS5 through CC2014 (note that CS4 and earlier are no longer supported). Unfortunately, I don’t have Retina hardware available to test this on. If you’re running it on a Mac Retina display you should notice sharper previews. The interface has been tweaked enough to notice-especially the flat UI– but it will still feel familiar to upgraders. ![]() ![]() If you’ve recently upgraded your OS, or are thinking of doing so, this alone makes the upgrade to Suitcase Fusion 6 worthwhile to avoid incompatibilities. While there are no earthshaking new features, this release is fully compatible with the newest operating systems, Yosemite and Windows 8.1. As a mature application, this is an evolutionary upgrade-and that’s not a bad thing. I’m now on my fourth version of Extensis Suitcase Fusion, having first used it at version 3 and I have been pleased with the improvements with each release. With that many fonts, a font manager isn’t a luxury, it’s a necessity. Even scrolling through a list that long would drive me nuts. If you’re still reading then like me, you know that installing more than 4,000 fonts is going to cause all kinds of problems. I have thousands of fonts from Adobe’s Font Folio and CorelDRAW Graphics Suite, plus countless others that I’ve acquired through the years.
